Scooter Safety Tips for Group Riding
When riding in a group, please observe the following Riding Safety
Guidelines. We want to make sure that everyone has a safe, fun and
enjoyable ride, free of crashes and accidents. We will have riders
of all levels riding from beginners to experienced.
-
Allow plenty of space between yourself and other riders. Drive
carefully and safely.
-
Ride in a staggered formation. Ride in manner where you do not
have a rider directly in front of you. This allows a cushion of
space to your right and left for maneuvering. (SEE DIAGRAM)
-
Allow at least a 2 second cushion between yourself and the rider in
front of you and and behind you. Choose a landmark that the scooter
in front of you passes, then count "one thousand one, one
thousand two." If you reach the landmark before finishing the
count, you're too close. (SEE DIAGRAM)
-
No horseplay, ie, weaving in and out of other riders, riding circles
around the group, sudden accelerations or quick stops. Any kind of
unsafe and unpredictable riding behavior will not be tolerated and
the rider will be asked to leave the ride.
-
No drinking and riding.
-
If your scooter breaks down, dismount and move the scooter off to
the side of the street.
-
Smile, honk your horn, have fun and SQREAM!
